·       How to remove (“whack”) pictures off the Internet

1. Locate a picture on the Internet by using a photo search tool/site like:

Amazing Picture Machine
Pics4Learning

1A In Google, click on a thumbnail

1B. Click on "see full size image."

2. Once the picture you want is alone on your computer screen, place your mouse on the center of the picture.

3. Click the RIGHT mouse button once.  A menu will appear.

4. Click on the words Save Picture as.

5. Click the LEFT mouse button once.

6. When the SAVE AS dialogue box appears save the image to DESKTOP so that it will be easy to find.  Give the picture a simple name that will be memorable a day or week from now.

7. Minimize the Internet by clicking on the – (minimize) option in the upper right corner of the screen.  Check the desktop to be sure the picture file is there.

8. To insert your picture file into either Word or PowerPoint choose Insert-Picture-From File.  Then click on insert.

9. Resize your image (larger or smaller) by clicking and dragging on the small  box “handles” surrounding the picture.

10. To enable you to move your picture around more easily, try Insert-Text Box before you Insert-Picture-From File.  This will give your picture a moveable “landing pad.” Try it and see for yourself.
