ETTC's Technology “Play” for a Summery, Rainy Day

Here are some cool sites for teachers to explore at their leisure over the summer break.  Save them for a day when staying indoors is an item on your vacation agenda.  As you point and click around online, think ahead to “back to school” time and consider various ways these sites might fit in with your future lesson plans:

Epals Classroom Exchange http://www.epals.com/ is a way to conduct a search, international in scope, to locate teachers and students interested in exchanging e mail messages on a topic of shared interest.  Find a keypal at Epals!

Stories, puzzles and summer holiday fun are all waiting for elementary students at the Rainbow Magic Summer, DLTK, Kids Domain and Parenting sites

Take a virtual cross country trip when you visit PBS's Yippee! It's Time for Summer Vacation site.

Visit the Blue Web’n site http://www.kn.pacbell.com/wired/bluewebn/ and type in your e mail address to receive fantastic weekly updates of great internet sites that fit with your curriculum.

Express yourself with Kaleidoscope Painter http://www.permadi.com/java/spaint/spaint.html   Click and move your mouse to create onscreen art.  Experiment with color and symmetry.  Enjoy!

Exworthy Educational Links to Collaborative Projects http://members.tripod.com/exworthy/ can help you “shop” for an online project to motivate next year’s class.
