Michael Ahearn of Medford Township School District recently visited the ETTC of Burlington County
for a World Wide Web Wednesday session. Here are some of
the sites he unearthed for a science unit on rocks
and minerals:
Rock Hounds with
Rocky uses a loveable long eared hounddog as a friendly guide
to engaging activities and great sources of information for
teachers and students studying rocks in the elementary classroom.
Visit the Virtual
Cave for an up close and personal look at the beautiful
mineral wonders unique to the cave environment.
Check out the Smithsonians
Gem & Mineral Collection . The images of minerals all
increase in size once you click on them.
WebDoGS
lead teachers and students to countless rock links on the
Internet including an opportunity to Ask a Geologist a question
about rocks and minerals.
