Joanne Szeliga
of Delran High School recently visited the ETTC of Burlington County
for a World Wide Web Wednesday session. Here are some
of the sites she examined (without need for a pair of latex gloves
or a sharp scalpel) to experience how the Internet is a showcase
for online virtual dissections:
Its hard to look away from the Cows Eye Dissection featured at the award winning Exploratorium website.
The
Anatomically Correct: On-line Cat Dissection site features worksheets, tests as well a live video.
The Virtual Pig Dissection site can function either as a teaching tool or as a learning
station for review of the anatomy and major systems of the animal.
The Interactive Frog Dissection site utilizes actual photographs to simulate the dissection experience.
Froguts, an amazing online virtual dissection of a frog.
Build the Virtual Frog at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
Virtual Owl Pellet.
Have fun virtually dissecting an owl pellet and then rebuilding the
skeleton of the animal.
