ETTC's Astronomy Sites:
See also Planets

This month’s Greatest Hits are brought to you by Maureen Kelly of Sacred Heart School who spent a few hours at the ETTC of Burlington for a World Wide Web Wednesday workshop last month in search of ”out of this world” websites for her seventh grade astronomy unit. Here’s some of the places she visited:

Plan a trip to the Astronomy Cafe for a “far-out adventure at the outer frontier of space and time.” Site creator Dr. Sten Odenwald, a Harvard educated PhD, is your guide through site links featuring videos and sounds from outer space.

Star Journey with National Geographic includes a Quicktime VR view of the stars via the Hubble Space Telescope.

Ask Dr. Universe (who is actually a professor at Washington State University who communicates and confers with experts) any burning questions about astronomy that come to mind. All answers and replies come to students by e-mail.

Visit Chicago’s Adler Planetarium and click on Weather Watch to find out if it really rains on Mars.

Click on A Virtual Journey into the Universe or The Solar System in Pictures to visit all the planets in our solar system.

The Nine Planets, a multimedia tour of the solar system.

Check out Astronomy Picture of the Day as well as the archives.
